Argan oil Argania spinosa

The Berber women of Morocco have used the oil of the native Argan tree to keep their skin healthy for centuries. Traditionally goats climbed the thorny trees to eat the sweet flesh surrounding the Argan kernels before discarding them on the ground. Farmers extracted the oil by washing, grinding and pressing these kernels.

The oil is so important for food and herbal products that the people call it the Green Gold of Morroco. It contains high levels of Vitamin E and saponins which soften the skin and increase elasticity. Together, they restore the skin’s water lipid layer and form the basis of anti-ageing creams.
